The BlackDog Foundry began its life as I was developing my own iphone application, and I realised that many of the services that I was building could be generalised and made available to the greater iphone (and, indeed, any mobile platform) development community.

For example, keeping an sqlite database on the phone synchronised with a master database is something that many, many applications would find useful.  Likewise, a set of services that provide some analytic services about how users use the applications would be useful to almost every application developer.

As a result, the BlackDog Foundry was formed, and development of generalised mobiled platform services was commenced.  After any months of development and testing, it was released in beta form to the community for testing and feedback.
